Job Description

An opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist to work within a home infusion environment, providing critical pharmaceutical care to patients. This contract-to-hire position is based in Bentonville, AR, and offers a day shift schedule from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating every third weekend. The assignment is for 13 weeks with potential for permanent placement.
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns Ensure medication supply and distribution comply with legal standards Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision Counsel patients on medication use, potential side effects, and answer inquiries Provide consultations on prescription/non-prescription medications regarding dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management Educate patients on proper use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters Compound medications for external and internal use, preparing sterile solutions following strict procedures Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks as part of the pharmacy team Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively Collaborate with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns to manage patient drug-related issues
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Arkansas pharmacy license Experience in sterile compounding and preparing IV admixtures Prior experience in home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy practice CPR certification preferred Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems (CPR+ experience is a plus) This role provides an excellent blend of clinical pharmacy responsibilities and patient interaction within a collaborative healthcare team.
