Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy operation in Bentonville, AR is seeking a licensed pharmacist for a 13-week contract position with potential to convert to permanent employment based on performance. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in long-term care pharmacy services, with a focus on patient safety and medication management.
Location:
Bentonville, AR (approximately 30 minutes north of Fayetteville)Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Rotating weekends every 3 weeksKey Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and securely Monitor patient medication usage for compliance and prevent overuse Ensure medication supply management complies with legal regulations Advise patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and respond to their queries Provide counseling on both prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosages, storage, and drug interactions Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring Educate patients on the operation of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks Maintain pharmacy inventory and timely restocking Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related problems Qualifications /Desired Experience:
Current pharmacist license valid in Arkansas Open to retail pharmacists willing to train for long-term care pharmacy Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files Experience with sterile compounding and pharmacy supervision is a plus This contract role begins immediately and lasts 13 weeks with a Monday through Friday day shift schedule and rotating weekends.
