Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A growing long-term care facility in Rogers, AR, seeks a dedicated Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity with potential to convert to a permanent role upon successful performance. This position offers engaging responsibilities in a collaborative healthcare environment supporting patient wellness through expert medication management and pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with legal standards. Monitor patient medication use for adherence and potential overuse. Maintain thorough and confidential patient records. Provide medication counseling including dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the usage and care of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications for internal and external use, and prepare sterile solutions following protocols. Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related issues effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Arkansas pharmacist license required. Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided. Familiarity with PV1 and PV2 duties, including intravenous (IV) preparations, is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills essential.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Rotating weekends every three weeks
