Job Description

Clinical Pharmacist- Hospital Position Summary:
This position ensures the safe and effective use of medications through order verification; assessment for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration; provision of drug information and education; drug therapy monitoring services; and drug procurement and dispensing for Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center. Provides pharmacy services to inpatient and outpatient care areas. Works with nursing and medical staff to ensure the best care possible is being given. This dynamic position will allow for participation in pharmacy and therapeutics committee with a broad scope to advance the medication use processes within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a desire to practice in multiple settings of care including acute care, critical care, outpatient infusion, oncology, and on occasion retail pharmacy. Full-time, flexible schedule, must be able to work weekends and take call after-hours.
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Current Licensure with state of Arizona or Licensure obtained prior to start
Education Preferred:
Doctor of Pharmacy. Completed Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Residency Experience Required Clinical pharmacy experience within educational program curriculum and/or post-graduate pharmacy work experience. Computer proficiency (Microsoft excel, word), pharmacy management systems, electronic medical record systems proficiency. Experience Preferred 2 years clinical experience as a health system Pharmacist. Experience with Meditech electronic health record, or similar EHR systems. Experience with development of clinical protocols, DUR reviews, operational assessments, guardrails/Alaris infusion pump, and oncology.
