Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An inpatient hospital is seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services on a contract basis. This role offers a flexible schedule of approximately 2-4 days per week to meet coverage needs, with opportunities for additional ongoing assignments. Training will be provided in the last two weeks of July to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

Pharmacy Hours:
6:30 AM - 4:30 PM daily
Training:
Last two weeks of July Key Responsibilities Verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness, including allergy and interaction checks Review and adjust medication dosages considering renal/hepatic function Process medication orders using Cerner electronic health record system Manage medication distribution via Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets and troubleshoot issues Monitor antibiotic therapies, with emphasis on vancomycin dosing and therapeutic monitoring Provide clinical recommendations and answer medication-related inquiries from healthcare professionals Support medication reconciliation, formulary adherence, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations Assist with inventory control, including controlled substances Desired Qualifications Active Arizona pharmacist license in good standing Prior experience in inpatient or hospital pharmacy settings Proficiency with Cerner and Pyxis systems strongly preferred Knowledge of clinical pharmacy principles and inpatient medication dosing Experience with antibiotic stewardship, specifically vancomycin dosing and monitoring, is a plus Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams Commitment to complete training during the latter half of July This contract position provides the chance to contribute to patient care by ensuring safe and effective medication use in a hospital setting.
