Licensed Pharmacist Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are LTC pharmacy and seeking a reliable, autonomous On-Call Pharmacist to handle emergency after-hours patient and provider needs. This is a purely on-call, supplemental income role with no regularly scheduled daily shifts at the pharmacy .You will remain on remote standby during your assigned rotation and will only report to the pharmacy if an urgent emergency arises. When paged, the pharmacist must be capable of physically arriving at the pharmacy within a strict 2-hour window . This position is an excellent opportunity for a local pharmacist looking to earn a steady baseline income for availability while capturing a premium hourly rate for emergency activations.

Key Responsibilities Emergency Response:

Physically report to the pharmacy within 120 minutes of an urgent page to dispense or compound critical, time-sensitive medications.

On-Call Standby:

Maintain complete phone and text availability during your assigned 12-hour weekly standby blocks.

Clinical Triage:

Act as the first line of defense for late-night provider or patient inquiries, evaluating whether an issue requires immediate on-site attention or can wait until morning.

Handoff Documentation:

Meticulously log all after-hours emergency interventions and dispensing activities for the daytime independent pharmacy staff. Compensation This position is paid strictly on a transparent, hourly basis in full compliance with California labor laws: Standby /

On-Call Availability Rate:

$16.90 / hour for all hours spent holding your schedule open during your designated weekly 12-15 hour block. 2-3 hours slots up to 6 days a week. Guaranteed pay.

Emergency Active Rate:

$85.00 / hour once you are activated. This premium rate begins when you come on-site to address emergency orders. Guaranteed 2-

Hour Minimum:

In accordance with California Reporting Time Pay laws, every unique physical call-out guarantees a minimum of two (2) hours of active base pay ($170.00 minimum per call-out) , regardless of how quickly the work is completed on-site.

Requirements Licensure:

Active, unencumbered California Pharmacist license.

Proximity:

Must reside within a reliable driving radius that guarantees physical arrival at our independent pharmacy location within 2 hours under varying traffic conditions.

Independence:

High degree of professional autonomy and comfort operating independently in the pharmacy facility during off-hours.
