Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. Duties Dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacotherapy, considering pharmacology, physiology, and medical terminology. Collaborate with medical staff on complex cases such as trauma, ICU, PICU, oncology, and emergency room scenarios to optimize medication regimens. Manage pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to drug regulation standards and hospital policies. Provide clinical pharmacy services including acute pain management, medication reconciliation, and patient education on drug therapy. Oversee pharmacy operations within hospital pharmacy settings, utilizing Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) for accurate documentation. Precept pharmacy residents and students, sharing expertise in practicing as a pharmacist within hospital environments. Participate in medication administration oversight, ensuring safe drug regulation practices across all departments. Support hospital medicine teams by offering specialized knowledge in pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacology, and patient care strategies. Maintain proficiency in emergency protocols through ER experience and Level I & II trauma center exposure to handle critical situations effectively. Skills Extensive knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to hospital medicine. Proven experience in managed care environments with a focus on pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Strong background in critical care settings such as ICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), PICU, and emergency rooms. Skilled in IV compounding, aseptic technique, IV infusion preparation, and medication administration procedures. Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations including Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and EMR/EHR systems for accurate record-keeping. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to conduct patient assessments and provide clear medication counseling. Experience practicing as a pharmacist post-residency or with post-residency experience preferred; previous precepting roles advantageous. Knowledge of drug regulation standards and pharmaceutical compliance requirements essential for maintaining safety standards across hospital departments. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments requiring acute care experience such as emergency rooms or trauma centers.
