Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Per Diem Provide expert pharmaceutical care in a clinical inpatient setting located in Big Bear Lake, CA, offering a per diem opportunity with a structured weekday schedule. This role supports medication safety, regulatory compliance, and patient-focused clinical services in a hospital environment.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full-time hours) On-call availability for weekends and after hours, with minimal expected calls

Responsibilities:

Verify and review medication orders ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety Compound sterile medications as needed, including IV admixtures and unit dose medications (note: no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs handled at this site) Respond to emergency room codes as required Ensure adherence to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and sterile compounding standards Monitor medication therapy and provide clinical recommendations to physicians and nursing staff Restock Pyxis machines at two local family health centers as needed

Qualifications:

Active and clear California Pharmacist License Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience Experience with software systems such as CSPI, Evident, and Pyxis preferred; training provided if necessary Prior experience functioning as the sole pharmacist in a clinical setting is desirable Willingness and ability to fulfill all on-call requirements This per diem position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your clinical pharmacy skills in a dynamic hospital environment with a supportive team.
