Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy operations with dedication and expertise. Duties Lead and manage the pharmacy team, fostering a collaborative and compliant work environment Ensure all pharmacy operations adhere to state and federal laws, including drug regulation and healthcare compliance standards Oversee medication compounding, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed according to USP 797 guidelines Conduct patient assessments, provide medication counseling, and support immunization programs to enhance patient care Manage inventory levels efficiently, ensuring accurate stock control and minimizing waste or shortages Maintain accurate records within Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Pharmacy Software platforms Ensure clinical confidentiality policies such as HIPAA are strictly followed during all patient interactions Supervise medication administration processes, including pain management protocols and pediatric care procedures Monitor pharmacy operations for regulatory compliance, including USP standards and drug regulation policies Provide training on pharmacy software, medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques to staff members Requirements Valid pharmacist license in good standing with current state and federal pharmacy laws knowledge Proven experience practicing as a pharmacist with a focus on clinical pharmacy or community pharmacy settings Critical care experience or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience preferred but not mandatory Demonstrated ability managing pharmacy teams effectively while ensuring high-quality patient service Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding Experience with Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR systems Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and drug regulation policies necessary for comprehensive patient assessment Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), immunizations certification, and pain management experience are highly desirable Excellent communication skills with clients and healthcare providers to facilitate optimal patient care outcomes Commitment to healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA privacy regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Join us as our Pharmacist in Charge to lead with passion, uphold the highest standards of pharmaceutical care, and make a lasting difference in our community's health!
