Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Per Diem Pharmacy professionals are needed to provide per diem staffing support within retail pharmacy locations across California. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists seeking flexible schedules and supplemental shifts in various Northern California markets. The role requires readiness to travel between stores based on coverage demands.
Locations with current need include:
Sacramento area (3-4 pharmacists) Bay Area/North Bay (2 pharmacists) Northern California regions including Redding and Chico (2 pharmacists) On average, coverage requests range from 1 to 2 shifts weekly per location, delivering a manageable workload with schedule flexibility. Per diem pharmacists must be able and willing to commute around the designated areas.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing daily pharmacy operations, including opening and closing procedures Supervising pharmacy technicians and workflow Processing prescriptions accurately using McKesson's Enterprise (ERx) software Providing immunizations in compliance with certification requirements
Qualifications:
Current pharmacist license in California Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience is preferred Immunization certification is required Experience with pharmacy opening and closing procedures Ability to supervise pharmacy staff and ensure compliance with operational standards Comfortable using McKesson's Enterprise (ERx) software Additional perks: Mileage reimbursement for travel exceeding 30 miles one way Flexible assignment opportunities supporting part-time schedules This per diem position offers a professional environment with the flexibility to supplement your pharmacy career while making critical patient care contributions across California.
