Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Pharmacy professional is needed to support long-term care and mail order operations in Fresno, CA. This role offers a mid-shift schedule from 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday, for a 13-week contract-to-hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse. Maintain strict confidentiality and proper management of patient records and pharmacy files. Provide expert guidance on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer patient inquiries. Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on using medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for internal and external use, including preparing sterile solutions following protocol. Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks, overseeing daily operational activities. Manage inventory to maintain adequate pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Valid California pharmacy license is required. Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings is highly preferred. Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques is essential. Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
