We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our team! As a key member of our closed-door long-term care pharmacy, you will perform prescription verification, manage prescription processes, and provide superior patient care and customer service. You will also support the development, oversight, and monitoring of pharmacy operations in alignment with company policies and objectives.
Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine required formulas and ingredients. Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes. Direct pharmacy staff in mixing, packaging, labeling, and managing prescription orders. Ensure accuracy in prescription intake and efficient fulfillment of orders. Dispense medications and provide counseling to nursing facility staff on the proper use of prescription and over-the-counter medications. Advise physicians on medication therapy and counsel nursing staff on health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management. Manage the storage and record-keeping systems to ensure the safekeeping of pharmaceuticals. Foster open communication with internal and external customers to enhance service and production performance. Provide on-call support for customers during after-hours, weekends, and holidays. Assist in staff training, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of positive customer relations.
MUST HAVE
Valid Pharmacist license in good standing. Ability to obtain other licenses in needed states Strong knowledge of compounding (sterile and non-sterile) and prescription verification. Experience in a long-term care or closed-door pharmacy environment preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic workload.
