The role offers a structured M-F day schedule with limited on-call weekend and after-hours responsibilities, providing a balance of routine hours and occasional clinical support.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Full-time hours) On-call weekends and after hours (calls are rare but require availability)

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and review medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety Compound sterile medications including IV admixtures and unit dose medications (no chemotherapy or hazardous drugs) Respond to emergency room codes as needed Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and sterile compounding standards Monitor medication therapy and provide clinical recommendations to physicians and nursing staff Manage Pyxis machine stocking at two family health centers in the community

Qualifications:

Active and clear California Pharmacist License (required) Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience Experience with pharmacy software systems such as CSPI, Evident, or Pyxis is preferred; training available if needed Ability to work independently as the sole pharmacist in a clinical setting preferred Commitment to fulfill on-call responsibilities This position offers a critical clinical role within hospital pharmacy services, ideal for pharmacists seeking flexible scheduling combined with meaningful patient care impact.
