The Retail Pharmacist works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and pharmacy technicians to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate medication therapy for patients of all ages. This position is ideal for pharmacists who enjoy: Building meaningful patient relationships Practicing in a community-focused healthcare environment Collaborating directly with healthcare providers Providing medication counseling and education Improving healthcare access in rural communities Practicing pharmacy beyond simple prescription dispensing Retail Pharmacist Responsibilities The Retail Pharmacist will: Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with California Board of Pharmacy regulations Counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence Evaluate medication profiles for safety, appropriateness, and therapeutic effectiveness Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers regarding medication therapy recommendations Support chronic disease management and medication optimization initiatives Serve as a trusted medication resource for patients, caregivers, and clinical staff Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians while maintaining efficient workflow Assist with inventory management, medication purchasing, and regulatory compliance Participate in quality improvement and medication safety programs Utilize pharmacy software and electronic health record systems effectively Support immunization services and preventative healthcare initiatives Maintain compliance with federal, state, and Healthcare District policies Why This Retail Pharmacist Opportunity Stands Out Make a Real Difference in Rural Healthcare The Retail Pharmacist serves as a highly visible healthcare professional within the community.
