Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A leading hospital within a major county health system is seeking a Pharmacist with chemotherapy expertise to join their team in a contract role based in Torrance, CA. This opportunity offers the chance to work at one of the largest medical centers in the region, serving both inpatient and outpatient oncology patients. This position involves a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, providing a focused yet balanced workweek structure. Ideal candidates will have strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience, preferably with a PGY1 residency or around two years of recent inpatient practice. Chemotherapy and oncology knowledge are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pharmaceutical care to inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy and oncology patients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient medication therapy. Participate in medication order verification, dosing adjustments, and adverse effect monitoring. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
Current pharmacist licensure. Minimum 2 years of clinical inpatient experience, especially in oncology or chemotherapy. Completion of a PGY1 residency strongly preferred. Ability to pass a competency examination and background screening. Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This hospital is part of a large health system offering an extensive outpatient clinic network and various career advancement opportunities.
