Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Travel A travel pharmacist opportunity is available starting May 5th for a 20-week assignment in New Castle, CO, with the potential adjustment of assignment length to accommodate start dates, ending around August 15th, 2026. This role offers a rotating shift schedule, working 40 hours per week. Shifts begin at either 6:30 AM or 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pharmacist will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medication orders as requested by physicians, maintaining medication stock in patient care areas, and ensuring safe, cost-effective medication therapy consistent with policies and protocols. The assignment involves supporting a facility transitioning its electronic medical records system from Meditech to Epic, so candidates must have EPIC experience, with Meditech training considered a plus. Key responsibilities include interpreting medication orders, compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals (including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition), ensuring compliance with laws regarding controlled substances, monitoring drug therapies for interactions and contraindications, performing pharmacokinetic dosing, reviewing infection-related data for antibiotic use, detecting and reporting adverse drug reactions, and providing clinical consultations and drug information to medical staff and patients. The role also involves documentation, participating in quality improvement activities, and being part of the Code Response Team.

Qualifications:

Active Colorado Pharmacist License in good standing BS Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school BLS (American Heart Association) certification ACLS (American Heart Association) certification Mandatory flu vaccine (no exemptions allowed) between October 1 and April 1 EPIC experience is required; Meditech training is a plus This is a travel assignment ideal for pharmacists ready for a dynamic role supporting a major EMR transition.
