Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately in accordance with physician prescriptions and hospital protocols, ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical regulations and safety standards Provide expert consultation on medication therapy management, including acute pain management, oncology treatments, pediatrics, and critical care scenarios such as ICU and Level I/II trauma centers Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacotherapy plans, utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, physiology, and medical terminology Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement medication plans for complex cases involving emergency room patients or those in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards through diligent documentation, drug regulation adherence, and participation in pharmacy audits Oversee IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques for sterile compounding within hospital pharmacy settings Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) to document medication administration, monitor drug interactions, and update patient records accurately Precept pharmacy residents or students as part of your post-residency or clinical pharmacy experience, fostering the next generation of pharmacists Requirements Valid pharmacist license with practicing authority in the relevant jurisdiction Extensive hospital experience, including hospital pharmacy operations and hospital medicine practices Proven expertise in managed care settings with a focus on pharmaceutical regulatory compliance and drug regulation policies Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers, emergency rooms, ICU environments, or similar acute care settings Strong background in clinical pharmacy areas such as oncology, pediatrics, critical care, and pain management Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for medication documentation and patient data management Knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and drug administration protocols Demonstrated ability to practice as a pharmacist in fast-paced environments requiring acute care experience or ICU experience Additional qualifications such as a pharmacy residency or post-residency experience are highly desirable Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient assessment and medication safety practices Sterile compounding is a plus!!! $50.00 - $85.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
