Duties Dispense prescription medications accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications using advanced pharmacy software and electronic health record (EHR) systems Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including medication history review and clinical evaluations, to optimize therapeutic outcomes Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, including inventory control, medication compounding, and aseptic technique for sterile preparations such as IV infusions Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, HIPAA privacy policies, and federal/state pharmacy laws Offer immunizations and health screenings in accordance with medical management protocols and healthcare compliance guidelines Educate patients on medication administration, potential side effects, and drug regulation policies to promote safe usage and adherence Lead pharmacy teams by managing staff schedules, training technicians, and fostering a collaborative environment focused on excellent patient service Qualifications Valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the respective state or region with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Proven experience in clinical pharmacy settings such as hospital or LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy environments with knowledge of acute care and pain management practices Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and medical terminology necessary for effective patient assessment and medication management Demonstrated expertise in managing pharmacy operations including inventory management, drug regulation compliance, and pharmacy information systems (PIS) or electronic health record (EHR) systems Experience practicing as a pharmacist with proficiency in immunizations, IV insertion/infusion techniques, aseptic procedures (USP 797), and drug regulation policies Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service and healthcare compliance; ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with pharmacy software platforms and EMR systems; knowledge of healthcare laws such as HIPAA is essential Prior experience managing pharmacy teams or supervising technicians is preferred; additional skills in pediatrics or specialized areas like pain management are advantageous Join us to make a meaningful impact on patient care through your expertise!
