Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Direct Hire Pharmacist in Charge - Direct Hire Opportunity - Lake Butler, FL This role offers a unique blend of sterile compounding expertise, clinical pharmacy services, regulatory compliance, and leadership. Supporting infusion pharmacy patients with a low volume of approximately 100 prescriptions per day, including 15-20 chemotherapy preparations, this position is critical to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30
PM Team Environment:
Onsite staff includes 2 full-time pharmacists, 2 full-time pharmacy technicians, and 1 weekend pharmacist
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately Perform and oversee sterile compounding consistent with USP and USP standards Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations Review patient medication profiles for safety, allergies, interactions, and dosing Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses Supervise, mentor, and lead pharmacists, technicians, and support staff Ensure adherence to aseptic technique, environmental monitoring, and cleanroom standards Manage quality assurance, medication safety initiatives, audits, and continuous process improvement Maintain compounding, batch, quality, and regulatory documentation meticulously Oversee inventory management, controlled substances, and overall pharmacy operations Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs Lead staff meetings and support a culture of compliance with all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DEA, and State Board of Pharmacy standards
Qualifications:
Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing 3-5 years of experience in hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding, with strong knowledge of
USP , USP
, DEA, OSHA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations Proven pharmacy management experience Preferred 3-5 years recent experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and time management skills Ability to work competently in a sterile compounding environment This position is available as a direct hire with flexibility for contract-to-hire arrangements.
