Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Direct Hire A direct hire opportunity is available for a licensed Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations in a Lake City, FL location. This role requires strong leadership and expertise in sterile compounding within a low-volume infusion pharmacy setting supporting chemotherapy services.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Staff onsite including 2 full-time pharmacists, 2 full-time technicians, and 1 weekend pharmacist
Location:
Lake City, Florida Qualifications:
Active Florida Pharmacist license in good standing 3-5 years of experience with hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding following
USP , USP
, DEA, OSHA, and State Board of Pharmacy regulations Pharmacy management experience Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work in a sterile compounding environment Preferably 3-5 years recent experience in home infusion, hospital, or oncology infusion pharmacy
Responsibilities:
Interpret, verify, and process physician medication orders accurately Perform and oversee sterile compounding activities ensuring compliance with USP standards Conduct final verification of compounded sterile preparations Review medication profiles for safety, allergies, interactions, and dosing accuracy Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals Supervise and mentor pharmacists, technicians, and support staff Maintain cleanroom and aseptic technique standards, including environmental monitoring Manage quality assurance, medication safety, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives Oversee inventory management and controlled substances handling Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and staff training programs Lead staff meetings and ensure adherence to regulatory and company compliance standards Utilize appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols consistently Perform other duties as assigned This position offers the opportunity to combine clinical expertise with strong leadership in a dedicated sterile compounding environment.
