Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract This position offers a unique opportunity to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a well-established acute care facility in Florida. The role supports inpatient pharmacy operations within an acute care environment that includes ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units. This contract assignment is ideal for experienced pharmacy leaders seeking to provide critical oversight while a permanent hire is secured.
Location:
Clewiston, FL (near Fort Myers and Palm Beach airports) Local candidates are heavily preferred but flexibility to relocate or travel will be considered
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30/5:00 PM No weekend coverage required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pharmacy leadership and serve as Pharmacist in Charge during contract period Oversee TJC readiness and compliance, including preparation for accreditation surveys Manage limited staffing of 3 pharmacy technicians, 1 full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists Support sterile compounding processes primarily executed by pharmacy technicians Utilize CPSI for order entry (preferred experience; training provided) Oversee use of Omnicell automation system (preferred experience; training provided) Collaborate closely with facility staff to ensure regulatory and compliance standards are met
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Florida Pharmacist licensure and Consultant licensure required Minimum 3 years of inpatient pharmacy management experience Strong knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and sterile compounding Experience with acute care pharmacy, ICU, and outpatient infusion preferred Familiarity with CPSI and Omnicell preferred but not mandatory
