Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for safely dispensing medications, reviewing medication orders, providing medication-related guidance, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and verify medication orders and prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness. Dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and applicable regulations. Monitor patients for potential drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, and adverse reactions. Provide medication counseling and education to patients and healthcare staff. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy. Maintain accurate medication records and documentation. Ensure medications are properly stored, labeled, prepared, and dispensed. Participate in medication reconciliation and clinical pharmacy activities. Monitor medication inventory and assist with ordering and maintaining adequate supplies. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility pharmacy policies and regulations. Support quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from an accredited program. Current and active Pharmacist license in the GA state. Previous pharmacy experience in a hospital, healthcare, retail, long-term care, or clinical setting preferred. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and drug interactions. Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
