Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily pharmacy functions, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, and deliver exceptional patient care. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold medication safety protocols, and foster a patient-centered environment that promotes health and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a vibrant healthcare setting while managing a dedicated pharmacy team. Responsibilities Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Oversee medication dispensing, compounding medications, and IV infusion procedures using aseptic techniques in accordance with USP 797 standards. Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and healthcare compliance requirements such as HIPAA. Conduct patient assessments, provide medication counseling, immunizations, and clinical services tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics and LTC (Long-Term Care) residents. Maintain accurate inventory management of pharmaceuticals, ensuring proper storage, stock levels, and expiration control. Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for documentation and medication management. Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance through regular audits, staff training on confidentiality policies, and adherence to USP 797 aseptic procedures. Foster excellent client communication by providing clear medication instructions, addressing patient inquiries, and supporting customer service excellence. Manage pharmacy operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and confidentiality in all activities. Skills Extensive pharmacy experience including clinical pharmacy practice in acute care or hospital settings. Proven leadership skills managing pharmacy teams in community or LTC pharmacies. Critical care experience with knowledge of pain management and medical management protocols. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and drug regulation policies. Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems such as
PIS, EMR/EHR
platforms; proficiency in inventory management tools. Knowledge of sterile compounding techniques following USP 797 guidelines; aseptic technique expertise. Excellent client communication skills with a focus on patient service and education. Familiarity with practicing as a pharmacist within the scope of state and federal laws; maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to perform patient assessments including immunizations, medication administration, IV insertion/infusion, and pain management procedures. Basic life support (BLS) certification; understanding of healthcare compliance standards like HIPAA; experience with healthcare systems integration.
