Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)

Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to oversee pharmacy operations on a contract basis starting May 18. This role is critical to maintaining compliant and efficient pharmacy services until a permanent hire is made.

Council Bluffs, IA Schedule/Hours:

Monday through Friday Approximately 6 hours per day

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, providing leadership and oversight of pharmacy activities Manage medication dispensing and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in an inpatient behavioral health setting Utilize automated dispensing systems such as Omnicell, including repackaging medications via Milt/Medi-dose or HCL Load drugs into automated machines and run restocking reports as needed Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient medication management

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

Current Iowa pharmacist license (required) Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing systems preferred Familiarity with repackaging processes using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL Basic skills in loading medications into automated dispensing machines and generating restock reports Strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and knowledge of pharmacy operational standards in behavioral health This contract assignment offers an opportunity to apply your expertise in a specialized behavioral health environment with a focused schedule.
