Seeking an experienced Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy to support an inpatient behavioral health facility in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract opportunity is available immediately, with a tentative start date of May 18th, and will continue until a permanent candidate is hired. The role involves a Monday through Friday schedule, working approximately 6 hours per day, providing excellent leadership and pharmacy management.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing daily pharmacy operations within a behavioral health setting. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Manage medication packaging processes, including repackaging with Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems. Operate Omnicell automated dispensing technology, including loading drugs and running restock reports. Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain optimal pharmaceutical care. Provide leadership to pharmacy team and support a smooth transition to permanent staffing.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Iowa pharmacist license. Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Director of Pharmacy preferred. Familiarity with inpatient behavioral health pharmacy operations. Prior experience with Omnicell systems highly desirable. Knowledge of medication repackaging and automated drug dispensing systems.
