Shifts:
6:00 AM
  • 2:00 PM 8:00 AM
  • 4:00 PM2:00 PM
  • 10:00 PM If working the weekend: 6:00 AM

Responsibilities Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to cost containment, waste reduction, and productivity improvement within the hospital pharmacy department. Accurately and efficiently prepares and dispenses medications, including unit-dose, IV admixtures, and automated dispensing systems, in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, case management, and other healthcare professionals to support safe and appropriate medication therapy. Maintains professional, compassionate, and respectful interactions with patients, families, hospital staff, and the community. Monitors medication and supply inventory levels, ensures proper storage and handling, and initiates timely reordering to maintain uninterrupted patient care. Performs routine and scheduled quality control activities. Ensures compliance with HIPAA and hospital confidentiality policies by securing, handling, and properly destroying patient-sensitive documents, labels, and materials not included in the permanent medical record. Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards to promote a culture of patient safety and quality improvement.
Qualifications Education:
B.S. Degree in Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Current license to practice Pharmacy in the State of Iowa Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons is preferred
Experience:
Experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities in hospital Pharmacy preferred
