Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A full-time retail pharmacist opportunity is available with a contract starting July 13 for a 3-month term. This role requires the ability to float between multiple pharmacy sites within Iowa, serving locations including Dubuque, Preston, Bellevue, Independence, and Monticello. The busiest location, Dubuque, handles approximately 2,800 to 3,000 prescriptions weekly, while the rural sites manage about 600 prescriptions each week. The position involves working with the McKesson Enterprise software system.
Schedule/Hours:
1st shift, Monday through Friday Occasional Saturdays (half days)
Hours:
8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Responsibilities:
Dispense medications accurately and ensure their safe delivery under direct supervision. Counsel and advise patients on medication usage and regimens. Address patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints following organizational protocols. Maintain stock levels and manage controlled drug records and inventories. Resolve patient-related issues including clarifying third-party insurance coverage.
Qualifications:
Active Iowa pharmacist license in good standing. Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience. Comfortable managing a high-volume pharmacy environment with multiple site rotations.
