Pharmacist Job Summary Reviews, verifies and dispenses medication orders and prescriptions in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and professional standards. Evaluates therapy for appropriateness, dosing, interactions and contraindications, and consults with prescribers when concerns arise. Counsels patients on safe and effective medication use. Education & Experience Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program: Required Prior pharmacy practice experience: Preferred Licenses & Certifications Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required Key Responsibilities Review and verify medication orders and prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness and safety. Evaluate therapy for dosing, allergies, interactions, duplications and contraindications. Dispense medications in compliance with state and federal law and professional standards. Consult with prescribers and other clinicians to resolve therapy-related concerns. Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, storage and adherence.
