Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A 6-month contract opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support operations in a warehouse setting. This role involves critical responsibilities in medication management and inventory oversight.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Location:
Des Plaines, IL Key Responsibilities:
Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of medications including refrigerated and specialty items. Manage inventory levels by ordering supplies, minimizing waste, and preventing product expiration. Ensure all medications are stored correctly and uphold compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations. Verify medication orders before preparation or shipment to ensure accuracy. Supervise pharmacy technicians managing inventory, picking, packing, and shipping tasks. Coordinate with sterile compounding staff to maintain availability of medications and supplies for patient orders. Review controlled substance inventory and document per regulatory requirements. Conduct cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits. Collaborate with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams for timely medication delivery. Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems to track medications and supplies effectively.
Qualifications:
Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license required. Some knowledge of IV medication is preferred. Prior experience in pharmacy operations, inventory control, or similar settings is beneficial. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and pharmacy standards. Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
