Staff Pharmacist

Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A pharmacy professional is needed to support warehouse operations in a six-month contract role based in Itasca, IL. This position requires oversight of medication receipt, storage, and distribution, ensuring all processes meet regulatory standards and support patient care needs efficiently.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medications, including refrigerated and specialty items. Manage inventory levels by ordering medications and supplies, reducing waste and expiration. Maintain compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations regarding proper storage. Verify medication orders prior to preparation and shipment. Supervise pharmacy technicians in inventory management, picking, packing, and shipping tasks. Coordinate with sterile compounding pharmacists and technicians to ensure availability of medications and supplies. Review controlled substance inventory and maintain thorough documentation. Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits. Collaborate closely with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams to ensure timely medication delivery. Utilize pharmacy software and inventory management systems to track medications and supplies accurately.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active and clear Illinois Pharmacist License. Some knowledge and experience with IV medication. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively. Familiarity with inventory management and quality assurance in a pharmacy setting. This is a six-month contract opportunity offering a competitive pay range of $60 to $62 per hour.
