Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract To Hire A retail pharmacy in Prophetstown, IL is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge for a Contract to Hire opportunity lasting approximately 13 weeks. This role offers the chance to oversee daily pharmacy operations and assume a leadership position within a dynamic retail environment. Willingness to consider travelers while the search for a local candidate continues.
Schedule and Hours:
Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM First shift coverage
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and manage pharmacy staff including pharmacists and technicians Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations Review and verify prescriptions with a focus on accuracy and patient safety Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and pharmacy record-keeping Develop and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards Collaborate with healthcare providers to address medication-related concerns and optimize patient care Maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy workflow using McKesson Enterprise software
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active and clear Illinois pharmacist license Experience in pharmacy management or pharmacist in charge (PIC) roles Strong leadership and organizational skills Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance This Contract to Hire position is ideal for pharmacists looking to step into a leadership role and eager to contribute to a pharmacy's success within a supportive team.
