Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - IV Certified Job Type Direct Hire This direct hire opportunity seeks an experienced infusion/clinical pharmacist to support home infusion therapy in the Kansas City area. The role focuses on preparing, dispensing, and monitoring complex intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous medications while acting as a clinical resource for patients and multidisciplinary teams.

Monday to
Thursday:
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday:
8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Participate in on-call rotation (approximately fewer than 5 after-hours calls weekly)
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare specialty pharmaceuticals and IV solutions under sterile, ventilated conditions according to federal and state regulations. Monitor clinical parameters including lab values, pharmacokinetic dosing (e.g., vancomycin), and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), adjusting therapies as needed. Provide patient and caregiver education on infusion techniques, pump usage, and catheter care to ensure safe home administration. Collaborate with prescribing physicians, home health nurses, and internal teams to coordinate care, optimize treatment outcomes, and minimize hospital readmissions. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards such as HIPAA, FDA, DEA, Medicare, OSHA, and others. Manage pharmacy inventory, including refrigerated items, and coordinate the safe, timely shipping of medications to patients.
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in infusion specialty pharmacy. IVIg experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of specialty therapy payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and contractual obligations. Current and good standing pharmacist license in Kansas; additional licenses from
CA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, NV, OR, OK, TN, TX
are highly preferred due to regional delivery. Experience with the CareTend system preferred. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to impact patient care directly in home infusion therapy with a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
