Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - IV Certified Job Type Direct Hire An opportunity is available for a dedicated Infusion/Clinical Pharmacist to join a dynamic specialty infusion pharmacy as a direct hire. This role plays a critical part in preparing, dispensing, and monitoring complex intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous medications, ensuring patients receive safe and effective home infusion therapy.
Responsibilities:
Prepare specialty pharmaceuticals and IV solutions in a sterile environment, adhering to all regulatory standards. Assess lab values and calculate pharmacokinetic dosing for medications such as vancomycin; monitor Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) and adjust treatments accordingly. Provide comprehensive education to patients and caregivers on infusion pump use, sterile techniques, and catheter maintenance. Collaborate closely with physicians, home health nurses, intake, referral, reimbursement, nursing, clinical services, and pharmacy operations to promote seamless care and reduce hospital readmissions. Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, FDA, DEA, Medicare, ACHC, URAC, OSHA, and other applicable standards. Manage pharmacy inventory including refrigerated products, and coordinate the safe packaging and timely delivery of medications to patients' homes. Participate in on-call rotation with fewer than five after-hours calls per week.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in infusion specialty pharmacy. IVIg experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of specialty therapy payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and contract obligations. Current KS pharmacist license in good standing. Highly desirable to hold additional licenses in CA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, NV, OR, OK, TN, or TX. Experience using CareTend system preferred.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This position offers the chance to provide impactful patient care in a specialized pharmacy setting focused on home infusion therapies.
