Full-Time Position Summary Hometown Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Staff Pharmacist to join our team in our rural health clinic in Columbia, Kentucky. The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing exceptional pharmaceutical care, ensuring the safe and accurate dispensing of medications, counseling patients, and supporting the pharmacy's mission of improving the health and well-being of our community. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal laws. Counsel patients regarding medication use, side effects, interactions, and disease state management. Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) services and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes. Administer immunizations and other clinical services as permitted by state regulations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy. Review patient medication profiles for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications. Ensure compliance with all Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, DEA, HIPAA, and company policies. Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and support staff. Maintain accurate records and documentation within pharmacy management systems. Assist with inventory management, ordering, and control of medications and pharmacy supplies. Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives. Support community outreach programs, wellness initiatives, and health screenings. Promote a welcoming and customer-focused pharmacy environment. QualificationsRequired Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy. Active Kentucky Pharmacist License in good standing. Immunization Certification or willingness to obtain. Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting. Preferred One or more years of community pharmacy experience. Experience with medication synchronization, MTM, and adherence programs. Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic health records. Experience administering immunizations and point-of-care testing. Strong commitment to rural healthcare and community engagement.
