This role supports the preparation and verification of customized medications specifically tailored for animal patients, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance within pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include:

Reviewing and verifying veterinary prescriptions for accuracy and completeness Performing final verification of compounded and dispensed medications Overseeing non-sterile compounding pharmacy workflows and operations Verifying medication formulations, strengths, calculations, labeling, and documentation Collaborating closely with pharmacy technicians and compounding staff to maintain efficiency and quality Communicating professionally with veterinary practices to clarify prescriptions as needed Maintaining all required pharmacy records and complying with state and federal regulations as well as compounding standards Supporting continuous quality improvement and safe pharmacy practices Qualifications needed: Active, in-good-standing Kentucky Pharmacist License (REQUIRED) Active, in-good-standing California Pharmacist License (REQUIRED) Experience in compounding, specialty, mail-order, or high-volume pharmacy strongly preferred Proficiency in non-sterile compounding preferred Veterinary or animal-health pharmacy experience is a strong plus Excellent attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
