Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract This opportunity focuses on a pharmacist role in a hospital setting located in Zachary, Louisiana, supporting a 131 licensed bed facility with an average daily census of 60-70 patients (goal of 80). The position requires immediate start and offers a contract assignment lasting a minimum of 90 days, with potential for extension or transition to a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pharmaceutical care to inpatient populations, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Utilize
EPIC EMR
system for order entry and documentation; training provided if needed. Prepare sterile compounded medications in compliance with standards. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians who assist with Pyxis device inventory management. Participate in rotating on-call schedule, averaging 5-7 days per month. Cover shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM, including weekends; 40 hours per week with varied scheduling.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Louisiana pharmacist license required. Prior inpatient pharmacy experience is essential. Sterile compounding expertise highly preferred. Familiarity with
EPIC EMR
system is favored but not mandatory. Experience with Pyxis or similar automated systems is beneficial.

Zachary, Louisiana—supporting a closely-knit pharmacy team with six pharmacist FTEs and three pharmacy technician FTEs.
