Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A clinical pharmacist position is available in a 200+ bed community hospital located in Alexandria, LA. This contract role requires an immediate start and runs for 13 weeks. The pharmacist will play a key role in medication management and patient care support within a dynamic hospital environment.
Schedule:
4 shifts per week, each 10 hours in length Rotating schedule with possible hours of 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM-11:00 PM Every other weekend coverage required
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow Provide expert consultations to physicians and nurses on medication therapies Perform pharmacokinetic assessments to optimize drug regimens Utilize IT systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management and documentation
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Licensed Pharmacist in good standing Experience working in a clinical pharmacy setting, preferably in a hospital environment Proficient in order verification, pharmacokinetics, and medication therapy management Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via American Heart Association This 13-week contract offers pharmacists a collaborative environment to utilize their clinical skills while supporting patient care. Dynamic scheduling allows for some variety in daily hours, with the expectation of alternating weekend coverage.
