What You'll Do:
Prepare and dispense medication orders accurately according to physician requests Interpret and verify drug orders within computerized patient records Compound and dispense pharmaceuticals, including sterile, non-sterile, and chemotherapy products Issue controlled substances following legal and institutional policies Monitor and review patient drug therapies for safety and efficacy Provide clinical consultation and drug information to hospital staff Assist with pharmacokinetics, renal dosing, and medication reconciliation Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and quality improvement activities Supervise pharmacy support staff, including technicians Educate patients and families on medication use when applicable
What You Need:
Required:
Louisiana Pharmacist License BLS certification (required), ACLS preferred Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy degree Hospital pharmacy experience is a plus
