Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A clinical pharmacist opportunity is available at a community hospital with over 200 beds in the Alexandria, LA area. This contract position offers a chance to work in a dynamic environment supporting patient care through medication management and collaboration with healthcare teams.
Location:
Alexandria, LA Schedule:
Four 10-hour shifts per week Rotating schedule varying between 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM shifts Every other weekend required
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide guidance as needed Consult with physicians and nurses regarding pharmacotherapy and patient care plans Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize dosing regimens Utilize healthcare technology including EPIC electronic health record system and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Licensed Pharmacist with current state licensure Experience in clinical pharmacy within hospital settings preferred Proficiency with medication order verification and pharmacokinetics Skilled in collaborating within multidisciplinary healthcare teams Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association This 13-week contract role requires a proactive clinical pharmacist eager to contribute to high-quality patient care.
