Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will maintain productivity, quality standards, and legal compliance within a long-term care pharmacy setting.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

Reviewing and verifying medication orders for long-term care facility residents to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Conducting comprehensive drug regimen reviews and identifying potential medication-related issues. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy. Monitoring for drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse effects. Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations governing long-term care pharmacy operations. Providing consultant pharmacist services and recommendations to facility staff. Participating in interdisciplinary care planning meetings and providing clinical expertise. Maintaining accurate documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements. Educating healthcare staff on proper medication administration and storage procedures. Responding to medication-related inquiries and providing drug information support. Overseeing medication storage, handling, and disposal protocols within the facility. Conducting quality assurance activities and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
