Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a long-term care pharmacy operation in Attleboro, MA. This contract position spans approximately 6 to 8 weeks with the possibility of conversion if the candidate proves to be a strong fit. The schedule primarily consists of shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional support needed for 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility in shift timing is essential.
Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of over-usage. Maintain patient confidentiality through precise record-keeping and management of pharmacy files. Provide consultations to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications for internal or external use and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring efficient pharmacy operations. Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
Qualifications:
Valid Massachusetts pharmacist license (must have license in hand). Experience in retail pharmacy is acceptable; training will be provided as needed. Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse healthcare teams.
