Job Description
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for building and managing a team of pharmacists and oversee the daily business operations of Pelmeds pharmacy. They will assure safe, compliant and efficient processing, filling and auditing of medications and advising clients. The manager will assure that processes are created, deployed and monitored with an eye to efficiently delivering medicines to patients. Qualified candidates will be self-driven and have a dedicated focus in safety, quality, efficiency, customer service and continuous improvement. Education and experience Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy program Experience of 2-5 years in successfully managing a pharmacy Licensing License in good standing with
Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership Provide leadership by setting an example, being a team-leader and engaging employees Nurture a culture of safety and responsibility amongst all employees Collaborate with other departments in identifying solutions for routing, customer service, accounting and delivery time issues and ensure implementation of corrective actions to exceed customer expectations Lead by example and instill pride in the work, quality orientation and operational excellence for patient care that meets regulatory standards. Establish and maintain excellent relationships with personnel in all operating departments of the company, patients, doctors and the business/health care community at large. Promote the company image Perform duties of a staff registered pharmacist. . Team Building Hire excellent employees and build a high-performance team, with an HR team. Review of prepared work schedules for all pharmacy personnel in the facility, to ensure compliance and efficiency. Perform annual reviews for direct reports per HR standards. Define norms for team and pharmacy that will ensure a professional, efficient operation. Compliance/Regulatory Maintain staffing levels, implement and improve types of service to be offered Assuring appropriate orientation and ongoing training on Pelham Community Pharmacy method of operations and philosophy Assure Pelmeds and Manager are licensed and/or certified to provide the level of care. Supervise the day-to-day activities of the staff to assure they are fulfilling obligations of their positions regarding serving their customers /patients. Assuring the maintenance of all pertinent records, charts and documents in a timely manner with a minimum of errors; affirming quality assurance and documentation standards. Maintain standard operating procedures- assist with development and review of current SOP. Performance Fully responsible for the results of the pharmacist team. Employ the highest standards of professional thinking, bearing and conduct Perform other duties and projects as assigned Maintain efficient pharmacy workflow Monitor staff progress and production Skills and Specifications Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Must be in good general health. Walking, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, flexing arms, legs, wrists, hands and fingers, lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying it to short distances, climbing stairs, turning head and torso. This position also requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Full use of vision. Must be able to hear and speak well enough to fulfill the obligations of the position; must have sight, with or without correction, to visually identify various patient conditions and have color acuity. This position requires knowledge of the pharmacy profession and industry, company policies and procedures, company and professional quality standards, working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party guidelines. Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills Excellent organization, communication, analytical thinking, short and long range planning. Must be able to work efficiently, accurately and swiftly under pressure of deadline and tight time schedules Ability to take and follow direction Ability to analyze information, make decisions, problem solve, prioritize assignments and lead an ever-changing work environment Conduct the business of company with the highest ethics and level of integrity Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information Effective time management, organization and multitasking skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, financial and billing systems, and applications used to operate and manage the pharmacy Self-motivated and driven to excel Workdays may vary from 8-12 or more hours per day, five to seven days a week.
