Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care pharmacy services. This contract position offers the chance to contribute to patient-centered care while supporting medication management in a dynamic clinical setting. Candidates must hold an active Massachusetts pharmacist license.
Location:
Fall River, MA Schedule:
Primarily 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with some shifts from 9:00 AM - 5:00
PM Contract Duration:
6 to 8 weeks

ASAP Key Responsibilities:
Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with state and federal laws. Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of overuse. Maintain confidential patient records and ensure accurate documentation. Provide patient consultations on medication use, side effects, dosing, and possible drug interactions. Educate patients on proper handling and use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring workflow efficiency. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related problems and optimize therapeutic outcomes. Participate in additional patient care services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required. Pharmacy experience in long term care preferred, but retail pharmacists will be considered and trained. Strong clinical knowledge with excellent communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours within the assigned shift windows. This role is a contract position with the possibility of conversion for candidates who demonstrate an excellent fit. Flexibility, professionalism, and a patient-focused approach are key to success.
