Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings, seeking a dynamic environment with variable shifts. The role involves ensuring accurate dispensing of prescription medications and providing professional consultation to patients regarding medication use and management.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately accept, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any over-usage patterns. Maintain confidential, accurate patient records and pharmacy files. Educate patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and answer any medication-related questions. Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring. Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations. Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, interns, and other healthcare professionals to manage drug-related issues and optimize patient care.
Qualifications & Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Active Massachusetts pharmacy license. Pharmacy experience required; long-term care experience highly desirable.
Schedule & Location:
Located in Taunton, MA. Variable shifts Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 12:00 AM. Shift start times and lengths will vary, with optional weekend shifts. Contract duration of approximately 8 weeks with potential for extension. This contract opportunity offers a fast-paced, engaging work environment in a long-term care and mail order pharmacy setting.
