Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A healthcare facility in Taunton, MA is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for an 8-week contract assignment, with the possibility of conversion for the right candidate. This position requires flexibility in working hours, primarily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently. Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns. Ensure the supply and distribution of medicines comply with legal regulations. Verify suitability of prescribed medications for patients. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Advise patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related questions. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper use and care of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following correct protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Identify drug-related problems and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Active Massachusetts pharmacist license required. Willingness to train retail pharmacists to Long Term Care settings. Strong communication and supervisory skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
