•SUMMARY Dispense medications prescribed by physicians and other healthcare practitioners, providing patients with accurate information on their use. Advise patients on proper medication storage, side effects, and potential interactions. Collaborate with healthcare providers regarding selection, dosage, and therapeutic effectiveness of medications.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program (PharmD or BS in Pharmacy) Current Michigan Pharmacist license in good standing Three (3) years of progressive experience in retail or clinic pharmacy operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Working knowledge of 340B pharmacy requirements preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following: Accurately dispense medications to patients after review and verification, ensuring patient information is correct. Counsel patients on prescribed medications, including dosage, side effects, interactions, and proper storage. Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions. Maintain pharmacy records, including patient profiles, charge files, inventories, and controlled substance registries. Follow procedures for compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals in compliance with legal and policy requirements. Assess medication identity, strength, and purity. Collaborate with healthcare providers to plan, monitor, and evaluate drug therapies, providing recommendations as needed. Order, purchase, and maintain pharmaceutical and medical supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling. Accurately process and bill patient insurance claims, troubleshooting insurance-related issues. Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent excessive use or harmful interactions. Advise patients on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies. Ensure adherence to safety standards in patient care and pharmacy operations, minimizing risk of errors or harm. Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and 340B regulations, including audit readiness.

Ability to function autonomously and as part of a healthcare team. Initiative for continuous process improvement. Proficiency with EHR and pharmacy dispensing systems.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and be insurable. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or must be completed within three months of hire. Occasional non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required to meet program needs. Ability and willingness to travel for meetings and continuing education as required.
