Share your ideas and help shape the way we work through improvement huddles, employee surveys, and town hall meetings Job DescriptionA Day in the Life of an Oncology Clinical PharmacistThe POEM Clinical Pharmacist is an integral member of the Cowell Family Cancer Center and oncology service line, focused on optimizing patient outcomes through comprehensive medication management, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role provides education for patients receiving intravenous and oral anticancer therapies, ensuring patients and caregivers understand treatment goals, administration requirements, potential adverse effects, and the importance of medication adherence. The pharmacist monitors patient response and adherence to therapy, identifies barriers to treatment, and provides recommendations to support safe and effective care. In collaboration with providers, the POEM Clinical Pharmacist evaluates treatment plans, verifies diagnoses and medication orders, and ensures the accuracy and appropriateness of chemotherapy dosing, supportive care, and monitoring parameters.
