Job Description

As a Staff Pharmacist - Market Support at Walmart, you'll provide clinical pharmacy services across multiple store locations, ensuring safe, accurate dispensing and adherence to state and federal regulations. You will counsel patients, perform DUR, administer immunizations, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize drug therapy. You'll support inventory control, oversee pharmacy technicians, and maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards. In this role, you'll help drive excellent customer service while supporting regional pharmacy operations and mentoring pharmacy staff. Responsibilities Dispense prescriptions accurately and safely in accordance with federal and state regulations Provide patient counseling on medications, side effects, and disease management Conduct drug utilization reviews and resolve therapeutic issues with prescribers Administer immunizations and support clinical services and health screenings Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians, delegating and verifying their work Maintain pharmacy records, documentation, and regulatory compliance Manage inventory, including ordering, storage, and controlled substance handling Support multiple store locations within the market as operational needs arise Ensure high standards of customer service and timely prescription processing Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives across assigned locations Required Skills Prescription verification and dispensing Medication therapy management (MTM) Drug utilization review (DUR) Immunization administration Retail pharmacy workflow systems Controlled substance management Inventory management Patient counseling Regulatory and compliance knowledge Team leadership and staff oversight
