Job Description
As a Staff Pharmacist at Walmart, you'll deliver safe, accurate medication dispensing and patient-centered care in a high-volume retail setting. You'll counsel customers on prescriptions, over-the-counter therapies, and immunizations while ensuring full compliance with pharmacy laws and Walmart policies. Partnering with pharmacy technicians and store leaders, you'll manage workflow, verify orders, oversee inventory, and maintain quality and safety standards. You'll also support clinical services, health screenings, and community wellness initiatives, with opportunities for growth, leadership development, and impact at scale. Responsibilities Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications in compliance with state and federal regulations Provide patient counseling on prescriptions, OTC products, and disease state management Administer immunizations and support other clinical services and health screenings Maintain pharmacy records, documentation, and regulatory compliance Oversee pharmacy workflow, delegating tasks to technicians and support staff Monitor and manage inventory, including ordering, storage, and controlled substances handling Perform drug utilization reviews and resolve medication therapy issues Collaborate with store management to meet performance, safety, and service goals Ensure adherence to Walmart policies, quality standards, and audit requirements Contribute to a culture of safety, inclusion, and continuous improvement within the pharmacy Required Skills Medication dispensing Pharmacy law and regulatory compliance Drug utilization review (DUR) Immunization administration Patient counseling Insurance and third party billing Pharmacy information systems Inventory management Quality assurance and safety protocols Team leadership and staff supervision
