Position Overview Lotus Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations governing pharmacy practice. The PIC is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting the delivery of safe and effective pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and their residents. This position will also participate in rotating weekend coverage (approximately every fourth weekend). Key Responsibilities Regulatory Oversight Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge in accordance with Board of Pharmacy regulations Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws (DEA, Board of Pharmacy, CMS, etc.) Oversee controlled substance management, inventory controls, and reporting Maintain pharmacy licenses, permits, and required documentation Ensure adherence to HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements Clinical Collaboration Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to support safe medication use Provide clinical consultation related to medication therapy for long-term care residents Participate in facility communications and problem resolution as needed Required Qualifications Education & Licensing BS Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required Active pharmacist license in good standing Experience Minimum 3-5 years pharmacist experience Long-term care pharmacy experience preferred Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations and compliance requirements Clinical knowledge in geriatric pharmacotherapy Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and pharmacy staff Experience with pharmacy management systems and technology Implement and maintain quality assurance programs specific to LTC pharmacy services
